Trademarks Suggest Possible New Death Note Game
Shueisha Inc. wants to take DEATH NOTE and DEATH NOTE KILLER WITHIN.
Madhouse, Nippon TV
Death Note is a fantastic manga and anime that deserves a new game adaptation, and perhaps we will see something soon.
As spotted on the eXputer forum, the Japanese publishing company Shueisha Inc. filed for a trademark for DEATH NOTE and DEATH NOTE KILLER WITHIN. The listed items and services resemble Shueisha's other game trademarks, such as One Piece Odyssey, Sand Land, My Hero Ultra Rumble, Jump Force, and Dragon Ball Sparking! Zero.
It's important to note that these trademarks might also be connected to Netflix's Death Note live-action series announced in 2022 and have no connection to any games. Considering its first horrible adaptation, I hope Netflix's new one faces a better fate.
This alleged game will not be the first for Death Note. If you wish to play Kira or L, check out Death Note: Kira Game, Death Note: Successors to L, and L the Prologue to Death Note -Spiraling Trap-, released in 2007 and 2008. I'd say the series needs some fresh air in terms of gaming, so it would be nice if the rumor were true.
