Other projects that were allegedly scrapped include a Guardians of the Galaxy Lego game, a mobile version of Lego Worlds, and a shooter that involved characters from Warner Bros. properties.
TT Games has reportedly scrapped numerous undisclosed projects, including a new Lego game that was under production for at least four years.
As reported by Nintendo Life, which cites internal sources, the Lego game supposedly codenamed Project Marley was set to feature various Disney worlds and characters, including Jungle Book, Pirates of the Caribbean, Frozen, Toy Story, and Winnie the Pooh, among others.
The game would have allowed players to navigate a vast overworld and venture into dungeons similar to the ones of Diablo. The ultimate objective was to liberate each realm from an evil purple force corrupting them.
As per the insiders that spoke with Nintendo Life, the cancellation of the TT Games project, which had been in development for about four years and faced internal conflicts about its direction, was ultimately influenced by the success of Gameloft's Disney Dreamlight Valley, which had a similar concept.
TT Games also reportedly terminated the development of another Lego game codenamed Project Cosmic which was centered on Guardians of the Galaxy and had been in production for 18 months.
Additionally, Lego Worlds, which debuted in 2017, was set to get a mobile port but that project has also allegedly been scrapped. According to Nintendo Life, the mobile version of the game was originally under development at Pandemic but was later transferred to TT Games after EA acquired Pandemic in June 2021.
Apart from Lego projects, a shooter game dubbed Project Rainbow Road, which involved characters from Warner Bros. properties such as DC and Rick & Morty as well as Netflix's Stranger Things, among others has allegedly been canceled.
Furthermore, two games appear to be in limbo, with insiders claiming that DLC based on The Mandalorian was in development for Lego Skywalker Saga, along with a new Batman game. However, both projects were allegedly postponed to create room for a new Lego Harry Potter game.
