Try Alexandre Devaux's demo.
Witness some Harry Potter magic with Alexandre Devaux's project that turns videos into 3D holograms with particle clouds, which makes them look even more fantastical.
This prototype makes "standard videos feel more organic and immersive in WebXR. By leveraging video depth data, we can bring them to life as interactive particle clouds."
You can hold and move the holograms on the palm of your hand right in your bedroom or wherever life takes you to with mixed reality.
Devaux used the method described in the Video Depth Anything paper to estimate the depth map.
"The depth estimation is done as a pre-process, the rest is real-time. It should be possible to estimate depth in real time using TensorFlowJS or other inference running in the browser but this new paper I'm using ([CVPR 2025] Video Depth Anything: Consistent Depth Estimation for Super-Long Videos) currently has no light WebGPU inference model."
