Tutorial: How to Rig Flat Eyes for Stylized 3D Characters in Blender

If you can't quite figure out how to make your stylized Blender character's eyes move right, this tip from artist Robert Poole might give you an idea.
In a new video tutorial, he talks about texturing, UVs, working with clothes, and making your workflow smoother. One piece of advice he gives is on how to rig eyes for a more stylized model in Blender 5.0.
His way is to make spheres, flatten them, and apply Lattice Deform Selected from the Add menu, which deforms objects without changing them.

Rigging such eyes is as simple as doing so with spheres: add a bone to the pupil, another one in front of it, then make the first bone track the second, copy the rotation, and invert it on the Z-axis. Finally, parent the whole thing to the head bone, and you're set!
