Learn how you can get started with Quixel Mixer 2020.
Quixel shared the new 6-part Mixer Fundamentals Series. Josh Powers provided an in-depth look into the mask stack components and modifiers. Let's get started!
The first part will tell you about the Position Gradient component which a powerful layer that generates a gradient on geometry for effects such as dirt coming from the bottom of your mesh, stylized gradients, and more.
The second part focuses on the Curvature component, a powerful layer that generates a mask around the convex and concave features of your Mixer asset in real-time. You can use this goodie to simulate edge wear, dust accumulation, stylized edge highlights, and more.
You can find the other four parts here. What do you think about the latest major update to Quixel Mixer? How good is the toolkit now?
