Ubisoft has released a beta version of its PC game launcher with an updated interface design and new features.
According to the official statement, Ubisoft has focused on enhancing the gaming users’ experience. The company launched a new interface with some exciting changes. Currently in beta, the updated Ubisoft Connect client for PC adds enhancements to game library navigation that includes larger and wider icons. "We took the time to really digest all the feedback that we received in the last years about the desktop app," said the project’s creative director Charles Huteau.
First of all, the header of the Ubisoft Connect interface has been reduced in size. Now it features only two options: a button to subscribe to Ubisoft+ and a choice of the launcher version you wish to use.
There is a side panel with a number of icons on the left. The first icon directs you to the Ubisoft Connect Home page, which offers a selection of titles that the company considers to be highlighted content.
Another big change covered the My Games area which has been renamed Library and appears to load a little quicker than it did previously. The thumbnails on the website now use horizontal tiles rather than the previous vertical format, which has been modified. The library has undergone some significant changes too. One of the updates allows users to access all games all in one place. Your game progress is shown in the library, which also lets you know when a game needs to be updated.
