Ubisoft Shanghai Is Reportedly Developing Might & Magic Fates

Last year, the studio was hiring staff for "a new  Might & Magic AAA game".

Recently, one user on Twitter called Kurakasis spotted that the French company Ubisoft has registered two domain names: mightandmagicfates.com and might-and-magic-fates.com.

Might & Magic was created by New World Computing and later, around twenty years ago, the series' rights were bought by Ubisoft for approximately $1.3 million. However, Ubisoft only released one new title in the main series, named Might & Magic X: Legacy, in early 2014. The effort has mostly been focused on spin-off games like Dark Messiah of Might and Magic & Might and Magic Heroes VII.

Adding to that, last year Ubisoft Shanghai was looking for a new talent to create an open-world game based on the fantasy IP. Here's also the official job opening description for the World Director position that Kurakasis shared.

"Now the Might & Magic brand at Ubisoft Shanghai is assembling a new team with ambition to reinvent and push the Franchise forward, create exciting new Worlds and genre-defining gameplay experiences, and redefine the meaning of Fantasy gaming for a whole new generation of players. Join Ubisoft Shanghai's Might & Magic team on this journey to build up the future of this monumental saga," reads the job description.

So, it seems that the picture comes together with the upcoming game, Might & Magic: Fates, and its developer, Ubisoft Shanghai. Well, hope we can hear more soon.

Also, recently we talked about the city of Baghdad in Assassin's Creed Mirage, describing how it was created and the way it influences the atmosphere of the game.
