Ucupaint 2.3 Is Out Now

This release adds real-time Ambient Occlusion, an option to rebake all baked layers and masks, and more.

The latest version of ucupumar's free Blender texturing add-on, Ucupaint 2.3, has arrived, bringing several handy features to streamline your workflow. The update introduces three key enhancements: real-time Ambient Occlusion that can be used as a layer or mask, which means edits to the mesh will automatically update the effect, the new Rebake All Images operator to rebake all baked layers and masks in one go, and the Paste Layers function with an option to rebake baked images as well.

Other changes include:

  • Real-time Edge Detect can now also be used as a layer;
  • Real-time Edge Detect, AO, and Fake lighting layers are now bakeable as an image;
  • New Dither option (for bake channels) to avoid banding color;
  • New OSL option (for bake channels) to avoid Out of SVM stack error when the material is too complex;
  • Fill selected geometry option when ColorID or vertex color is added in Edit mode;
  • Copy and Paste custom bake target;
  • Open Images from Material now will check the node connection by default rather than checking the image names;
  • Paste Layer now works with Ucupaint node with a different channels list.
