After Sony's State of Play 2024 event, where the studio announced that Until Dawn would be coming later this year to PC and PlayStation, just as expected, we've got even more details on the upcoming remaster in a recent blog post.
Neil McEwan, Creative Director of Ballistic Moon, shared that the upcoming enhanced version of the game will be rebuilt on Unreal Engine 5, while the original game was made on Decima.
The team made significant improvements to the graphics, enhancing character models, lighting, and shadows. The developer also included new animations for the characters and updated the existing ones.
"Until Dawn has been rebuilt with the latest tools and techniques. New and improved animations build on the success of the original character performances. Characters, environments, and VFX have been upgraded – all for a truly enhanced cinematic horror experience," says McEwan.

In the Until Dawn remaster, the developer added a third-person camera, whereas the PS4 version had a fixed camera, so now you'll be able to "look behind the curtain of the original game."
Also, Ballistic Moon expanded the storyline and introduced new locations with new interactions and collectables. The enhanced version also features completely overhauled audio with extra tracks from Mark Korven, a legendary horror Composer.
