Ultimate Blender Sky Tool For Cinematic Environments & Volumetric Atmospheres
Create realistic, crisp visuals without leaving the Blender viewport using True Sky.
True Sky by True VFX is a complete sky system for creating lighting, clouds, and fog in Blender. It has been supported and continuously developed for four years, with ongoing Blender compatibility updates, new features, and workflow improvements.
With a user-friendly interface, it's easy for even beginners to create gorgeous visuals. True Sky supports ACES and AgX color workflows, along with real physical values for more accurate rendering. The system includes celestial objects such as the sun, moon, planets, asteroid belts, and custom emitters, all with true orbital positions and scalable sizes, as well as animated auroras. Built-in geo-coordinate and sun-position controls let you set latitude, longitude, time of day, and day of year, ensuring the sun's angle and color remain accurate.
You can start by choosing an atmosphere, either from ready-made production presets or by creating one entirely from scratch. From there, you can shape volumetric clouds. The lighting is fully interactive, and everything can be animated, including day and night transitions, cloud formations, and celestial bodies. All of this is supported by a rapid preview system that provides real-time feedback directly in the viewport thanks to an optimized rendering pipeline.
True Sky is compatible with Cycles only and requires Blender 5.1. The current version, True Sky 3, is still in early access, so features and workflows may continue to evolve as development progresses.
