Uniform 1.2 Is Now Available

This release introduces cloth simulation, a new surface curvature module, a Surface Transfer tool, and more.

CozyBlanket creators Sparseal just shipped Uniform 1.2, a new version of their 3D modeling, texturing, and rendering app for iPad, launched back in May

The developers are consistently improving the software and rolling out new features. Uniform 1.1, the most recent major update, which was released last month, introduced new Curve object types, a toolset for stylized hair, transparency painting for textures and geometry, and quality-of-life improvements.

Just last week, we shared a series of teasers for the upcoming software update, and now Uniform 1.2 is available to everyone, bringing cloth and ropes simulation, a new Surface Transfer tool, and more.

Check out what's new in this release:

  • Simulation components
  • Simulation deformation overlay
  • Simulation overlays
  • New surface curvature module
  • Surface Transfer tool
  • New PolyMesh combiner that generates combined normal map exports without artifacts
  • PolyMesh Texture Proxy Editor and panel
  • Build mesh tools
  • Wind simulation deformation kernel
  • Dilated pixels to the combined exporter
  • Region boundary edge marking module
  • Size property to point fields
  • Surface process kernels
  • Value Map controls
  • Clusterizer modules, optimized image clusterizer
  • Hardness and wet mix parameters to the average blend brush
  • Fill holes options to trim layout kernel
  • Reverse layout tool
  • Symmetry support to PolyKnife
  • Alpha clipping to fill layers
  • Commands to clear the base layer data in PolyMesh
  • Surface and layer stack components to texture PolyMesh proxy
