Unity 2021.2 Tech Stream Release Is Available

Check out the latest build of the engine.

Unity 2021.2 Tech Stream is now available for download, focusing on the quality, productivity, and performance enhancements. The team offers full support for the current Tech Stream. All core platform releases (beta, Tech Stream, or Long Term Support) can be installed directly within the Unity Hub.

With version 2021.2, Unity brought macOS development workflows natively to M1 with Editor support for Apple silicon. Users can get the Apple silicon builds directly from the Hub beta, or download the standalone installer directly.

The team also noted that one of the focuses for this release has been extensive work on the Universal Render Pipeline (URP). "We’ve taken a big step towards ensuring that URP is at feature parity to the Built-In Render Pipeline, so you can rely on key features and functionality while also capitalizing on the greater benefits URP offers," states a blog post.

Unity also promises less downtime waiting for builds, faster transitions between edit and play modes, better shortcuts, updated syntax, and more.
