Unity 6.3 LTS Released
Introducing Platform Toolkit for easier cross-platform development, enhanced authoring workflows, Unity Building Blocks sample templates, and much more.
Unity 6.3 LTS has officially arrived, marking the first Long-Term Support release since Unity 6.0 LTS. Unity 6.3 LTS will receive two years of dedicated support, regular updates, a growing ecosystem of verified tools, and stable platform maintenance. If you're using Unity Enterprise or Unity Industry, you will benefit from an extra year of support, for a total of three years.
The key highlights of this release include Platform Toolkit, a unified API that streamlines cross-platform development for account management, save data, achievements, and more. With built-in workflows and Editor-based testing, you can simplify the certification process and test your workflows directly in the Editor, no device builds required. The Platform Toolkit supports mobile, PC, and console platforms, including Nintendo Switch 2.

Also, features for Android XR development in Version 1.1 of the OpenXR: Android XR package include Face Tracking, Object Trackables, and Automated Dynamic Resolution. It's now easier to build accessible games with native screen reader support across Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS, all through unified APIs.
Performance and stability are reportedly improved, with key areas such as iteration speed, runtime optimizations, cross-platform reach, live ops, monetization, and more all verified in real production environments.

Unity 6.3 LTS introduces new customized lighting content and terrain shader support, enabling you to create terrain materials without coding. New features also include support for 8-texture coordinates for advanced material creation across terrains, characters, and effects, along with improved workflows for SubGraphs featuring nested properties and keywords to streamline your workflow. A template browser provides pre-built options for all shaders (lit/unlit surfaces, decals, post-processing, UI, sprites, particles, and 6-way lighting).

Unity Building Blocks is a new collection of sample assets with ready-to-use, customizable components that make setting up complex gameplay easier. Available now, these building blocks offer solid foundations for common game systems like Achievements, Leaderboards, Multiplayer Sessions, and more.
UI Toolkit continues to expand, now supporting customizable UI shaders, post-processing filters, and Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG). You can also extend the audio signal chain using Burst-compiled C# units called Scriptable Processors.
