Unity Is Seeking Senior Software Developer

Here's your chance to become part of the global team to help AAA game studios develop "ambitious" games and improve Unity's technologies.

Unity is currently seeking a Senior Software Developer to join its External Productions team to help AAA game studios develop "ambitious" games and improve Unity's technologies by integrating Unity partners' needs into the company's offerings.

If you're an experienced hardworking professional who is passionate about video games, this is your chance to join the team to make Unity a better engine for partners. The applicants are welcome to work in the company's Montreal, Vancouver, Port Coquitlam, and Calgary offices, or remotely.

Responsibilities: 

  • Help improve the Engine’s flexibility and performance;
  • Enable partner success by architecting, improving, and developing new technologies for game projects with a focus on performance and quality;
  • Partake in the partner game development lifecycle by maintaining, building up, or crafting Unity technologies;
  • Assist the team in facilitating and building relationships with Unity's R&D teams;
  • Provide fierce feedback on Unity's future technologies.

Requirements:

  • Game developer industry-standard skill set that can plan tasks efficiently, develop as well as profile, debug and optimize code in multi-platform environments (Unity experience is a plus);
  • Strong programming skills in C# (or C++). Experience with or ability to learn C# is a requirement;
  • Experience in shipping multiple games or other real-time interactive applications, including a proven understanding of software development lifecycles;
  • Great communication skills with the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team as well as write technical reports;
  • Comfortable with taking ownership of domains outside of expertise and working autonomously.

Having extensive experience in a specific domain like 3D graphics, AR/VR, animation, or core programming as well as in multithreaded programming would be a great plus. If you have the cutting-edge proficiency of the C# standard and its ecosystem, and experience with the Unity Engine, Unreal, or another proprietary game engine, you'll be the perfect candidate.
