Developer OMYOG showcased a custom solution for generating realistic-looking waterfalls in Unity.
Solo Game Developer and the creator behind Project Ferocious, an upcoming Jurassic Park-style survival shooter, known only as OMYOG, continues working on the game and sharing insightful behind-the-scenes demos along the way.
This time, the developer showcased an impressive Unity-powered waterfall generator made for the game, achieved by setting up a custom shader that reads the baked values. According to OMYOG, the generator is already very efficient performance-wise, but will be further updated and improved in the future, as there is "still too much overdraw going on".
Previously, OMYOG also demonstrated stunning plant physics, an incredible bullet holes mechanic, cool ocean shorelines and wet sand simulations, a stunning water simulation with a creature swimming in real-time, and some fantastic water simulations made in Unity for Project Ferocious.
