Marcel Ruegenberg unveiled EVE, the Excellent VEX Editor.
EVE by Marcel Ruegenberg brings a modern code editor experience to VEX wrangles directly within Houdini. Its features include intelligent autocomplete (so you never have to guess function argument order again), help and error messages (shown as tooltips), and thoughtful quality-of-life improvements like rainbow brackets and customizable fonts.
EVE is designed to be a drop-in replacement for Houdini's default parameter pane, and is compatible with any version running Python 3. It's been tested on Houdini 19.5, 20.0, and 20.5 across Windows, macOS, and Linux.
New features are actively being developed, and Marcel welcomes any user feedback. You can apply for the free beta and learn more about EVE by clicking this link.
