Valve Announced Launch Plans For Steam Deck

Valve's portable console Steam Deck will be launched on February 25 and shipped three days later.

Valve has announced the release date of the Steam Deck – the console will be available for purchase from February 25. In a blog post, the company informed that the customers who already have reservations will receive a confirmation on that day and have 72 hours to place an order. The first Steam Decks will start shipping to customers on February 28, with more confirmation emails going out each week.

When Valve announced the Steam Deck in July last year, it was originally planned to ship in December 2021. However, in November 2021, Valve released a statement about the release of its portable console being postponed from December to February due to the supply chain and shortage issues.

According to Valve, customers still have the opportunity to reserve Steam Deck for $5, if they haven't done it before. Nonetheless, in this case, the wait will take quite a long time, as the order page currently says that the order is expected to ship “after Q2 2022”. Currently, the reservation of Steam Deck is available for customers in the United States, Canada, European Union, and the United Kingdom.

Valve also announced that the first reviews of the Steam Deck from the press are going to show up soon, and with the release of the console, they will spread more widely.
