As we previously reported, Valve celebrated the 25th anniversary of the iconic Half-Life by releasing a big update on November 18. This update included additional content and various technical improvements. Following this, three minor patches were released over the next four days to address small issues. Among these patches, one particularly caught the attention of the players.
On November 22, the developers released an update where they resolved one old, small, but annoying bug in Half-Life. This bug involved a scene from chapter six, Blast Pit, where a big alien tentacle grabs a researcher and drags him into a pit. With the release of the patch, the capturing animation now plays correctly. As a result, the researcher is now positioned closer to the tentacle, rather than a few meters away as it was before.
Fans are happy that Valve dedicated some time to fixing this small bug. One fan even mentioned that they can now fully enjoy playing the game, while another admitted they would miss the tentacle's exaggerated force-like actions.
Earlier on, Valve released a documentary commemorating the iconic title, where the creators delved into the development process. In the video, Gabe Newell, the Co-founder of Half-Life, shared that the game's release faced a delay by a whole year from its original launch date, but they didn't regret the decision, saying: "Late is just for a little while. Suck is forever."
