Valve Is Ramping Up Steam Deck Production

The company shared that it has boosted the production of the device and more than doubled the number of Steam Decks being shipped each week.

On Monday, Valve announced that it has boosted the production of the device and more than doubled the number of Steam Decks being shipped each week.

In a tweet from the official Steam Deck account, the company revealed that it just sent out the last batch of Q2 reservation emails, and said that emails for Q3 will be sent out on June 30. After getting the email, customers will have three days to confirm their reservation and pay for the order, and after that, the portable PC will be shipped.

If you want to get your own Steam Deck, now may be a good time. Although the availability date has not changed yet and if you order the portable PC now, you wouldn't get it until at least October, hopefully, with the production doubling, there is a chance that this date will change.

Steam Deck was initially planned to start shipping in December last year but due to supply chain issues, the launch of the device was pushed towards February 2022, with orders starting shipping at the end of the month. Now, apparently, Valve has found the needed production capacity to build the units faster and deliver them to customers more quickly.

It isn't surprising that Valve is ramping up the production of Steam Deck. According to the company, there is a huge demand for the device – since April it has become Steam's top seller outpacing even the most successful games like FromSoftware's Elden Ring which takes second place.

Since the launch of Steam Deck, the company keeps working on the device bringing new games and new features. In April, the company shared the first results of Steam Deck and confirmed that the portable PC can boast over 2000 games that have the status of "Deck Verified" or "Playable".
