Valve Uses Emojis to Describe Dota 2's 7.34 Patch

🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡

Valve has posted Emojis in the Dark, a complete list of patch notes for the 7.34 gameplay update for Dota 2 written entirely in emojis.

If that's not enough, the developer also stylized the reveal as a leak. According to a short note written by an individual identified as E.W., they snuck into Valve and stole the complete patch notes, but something went wrong with the copy-paste function, and the list translated itself into emoticons.

"Hey, everyone. I don't have much time. I snuck into Valve and managed to grab the complete patch notes for 7.34, and I'm posting them for everyone to read," reads E.W.'s note. "But I think something went wrong with my copy-paste because it's all in emoticons. Anyway, so long as you can read emoji, you should be okay."

While certain alterations to characters and items were swiftly decoded by the community, others left players puzzled and eagerly anticipating the prompt unveiling of a normal list presented in clear English. Attached below are some of the changes listed in Emojis in the Dark, let us know how many you were able to decipher:

Shortly after the release of Emojis in the Dark, Valve also announced that it decided to scrap the plans to release 7.34 this coming Thursday and shipped the long-awaited update a little bit early. The full list of the update's patch notes, in English this time, was also published and is available here.

"In the wake of last night's unprecedented, frankly preposterous all-emoji patchnote leak, we've decided to scrap our plans to release 7.34 this coming Thursday, and are shipping it today. As in right now. As in 'immediately' right now. In fact, as you read this sentence specifically, at exactly the moment you read this part of the sentence here."

Additionally, the company commented on the promised celebratory event dedicated to Dota 2's 10th birthday, saying that it is almost ready and will be shipped "very soon".

"As we mentioned in June, we've been working on some fun stuff to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of Dota 2's official release. The good news? It's almost ready! The bad news? It's not quite ready TODAY. But keep your party hats ready and pitch-forks at half-mast. We're looking to ship it soon. As in very soon. As in – well, soon."
