Vampyr Sales Grow While Twin Mirror Hasn't Paid Off

According to Dontnod Entertainment's financial report, Vampyr has become one of the most successful studio's games while Twin Mirror has not covered development costs.

Life is Strange developer Dontnod Entertainment released the financial report for 2021 sharing the success of its action role-playing game Vampyr and the underperformance of its psychological thriller Twin Mirror.

Released in 2018, Vampyr, the Focus Entertainment-published action RPG, surpassed 2 million copies sold worldwide. The figure reflects another million units sold since the last sales update in April 2019. According to the report, due to a free Epic Games Story giveaway, the game was also downloaded 8 million times in 2021. The game is the studio's biggest financial success along with the first part of Life is Strange.

As for Twin Mirror, the company hasn't disclosed the sales figures, however, the report notes that since the release that took place in December 2021, the game covered only 75% of the investments. Dontnod Entertainment believes that the game will bring "a marginal level of revenue in the future" and, as a result, decided to "depreciate all the development costs still capitalized".

The company also reported that eight new titles will be released between this year and 2025, two of which – Danish studio PortaPlay's Gerda: A Flame in Winter and a new title from Belgian Studio Tolima – have been publicly announced. The other six unannounced titles that Dontdot is currently working on will be the company's in-house projects.
