In October, in Turin, Italy, a group of film directors and creatives from Hollywood and Silicon Valley gathered for the annual VIEW Conference.
Approximately 6,500 people from 57 countries attended the event at prestigious venues in Turin, including the Officine Grandi Riparazioni (OGR). The OGR's Fucine hall buzzed with creatives, professionals, thought leaders, students, and enthusiasts throughout the week, all seeking inspiration and the latest insights in animation, VFX, games, and more. Visitors had the opportunity to attend book signings by film directors Kelsey Mann and Chris Sanders, as well as a "meet and mingle" session at the end of the conference, providing a chance to engage with notable industry figures.

“VIEW Conference is all about bringing people together,” says Conference Director Dr. Maria Elena Gutierrez. “It provides an intimate space in which industry professionals can network with their peers. It also breaks down barriers between speakers and audience, so that everyone who attends has the chance to meet their heroes and be inspired. VIEW Conference 2024, our 25th anniversary edition, has been more successful than I could possibly have imagined. Meanwhile, our plans for VIEW Conference 2025 are already well underway. You ain’t seen nothing yet!”
The keynote speakers at VIEW Conference 2024 included Oscar-nominated writer, producer, and director Jonathan Nolan, currently executive producer of Amazon MGM Studios and Kilter Films’ Emmy Award-nominated “Fallout,” along with Fede Alvarez, director, co-writer, and executive producer of the sci-fi/horror-thriller “Alien: Romulus.” Ramsey Naito, president of Paramount Animation and Nickelodeon Animation, was honored with this year’s VIEW Visionary Award for outstanding contribution to the visual arts.
The event featured award-winning directors such as Kelsey Mann (“Inside Out 2”), Chris Sanders (“The Wild Robot”), Shannon Tindle (“Ultraman: Rising”), and Josh Cooley (“Transformers One”). Four exclusive premiere events showcased unreleased footage from Disney Animation’s “Moana 2,” Netflix’s and Locksmith Animation’s “That Christmas,” Netflix and Aardman’s “Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl,” and Netflix and Riot Games’ “Arcane: League of Legends.”
The VIEW Conference 2024 program included sessions on VFX, animation, and production design with various speakers, including VFX supervisors Andrew Jackson (“Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga”), Paul Lambert (“Dune: Part Two”), and others. Topics such as the impact of AI on the creative arts were explored in a dedicated conference track, featuring speakers like Nvidia’s Richard Kerris and artist Martin Nebelong.
Workshops covered a range of subjects, including AI tools for film production, storyboarding, real-time animation, cinematography, mixed media design, and figure drawing. The event also featured presentations from directors of award-winning animated short films and speakers from the games industry.
The business track at VIEW Conference 2024 included discussions on international co-production and a panel of CEOs and co-founders. The success of these presentations has led VIEW Conference to plan a significant expansion of its business-oriented content for the next edition in October 2025.
