A leak of Warcraft 2 Remaster is like a Mentos dropped into Coke, causing an eruption of discussion in the community.
Just a few hours ago, an entry titled "Warcraft II: Remastered Internal Alpha" appeared on BlizzTrack.com, a site that tracks all the updates from Blizzard's Battle.net. Around the same time, Twitter user and Blizzard data miner Stiven also shares their findings, together with images of the remaster's logo and key art:
Looking through the production configuration file, we can see the supported locales of the Internal Alpha include the country codes US, MX, BR, FR, DE, ES, RU, JP, KO, CN, and TW.
While many players are excited about the sudden news, some others are less confident and express their concern over the remaster of the 1995 RTS. They recall that when Warcraft 3: Reforged was released in 2020, it lacked several features from the original game, had technical issues, and made the original game impossible to play.
The special event for the franchise's anniversary, Warcraft 30th Anniversary Direct, will take place in just one week, on November 13. Hopefully, it will bring some official announcements regarding the remaster.
