Watch This Fantastic Procedural Werewolf Transformation in Unreal Engine

A beautiful project by Elvis Morelli.

Elvis Morelli shared the result of his work on a procedural werewolf transformation done in real-time using Unreal Engine and MetaHuman, along with Mesh Morpher, a tool that allows you to create and manage advanced 3D deformations.

The slow movement from one reaction to another, combined with the pain of change, makes the scene even more realistic, morphing the person's features and turning them wolf-like.

When asked about the hair growth, Morelli replied that to achieve this, "you'll have to expose the values you need."

"I've made a custom skin shader for veins, secondary and tertiary details, I've create 4 blenshapses for all the trasnformations phases + teeth morph, I've made 4 type of groom and procedurally generate runtime, and with mesh morpher i've made bonesnapshots cause with blendshapes only you'll have a problem with bones, so I need to re adapt the bones to the new geometry, the eyes and skin texture changes are just native in engine function, just expose them."

Morelli is a master of digital doubles: you should see his MetaHuman blend shapes experiments and Sean Connery recreation on his LinkedIn.
