Weaving Intricate Digital Fabric Using Blender's Geometry Nodes

Thomas Marcos started a new project.

This time, Thomas Marcos, whose work on Asterix & Obelix: The Middle Kingdom and custom scratched car paint shader we previously shared, kicked off a motion design project. This setup explores detailed fabric structures forming from microfibers, pushing the boundaries of Blender's Geometry Nodes instead of hair system.

The result features full animation control, with the first render completed in Cycles at 4K resolution, taking between 1 to 5 minutes per frame:
