Neogeo: A Visual History

NEOGEO: a visual history is the first officially licensed NEOGEO art book released in the English language. It is basically a visual celebration of all things NEOGEO filled with beautiful visuals split into dedicated chapters, including Hardware, Box Art, Character and Concept Art, and Pixel Art. The book also has a number of official interviews with key staff integral to the NEOGEO’s history, including producer Yasuyuki Oda, artist Tatsuhiko Kanaoka (Falcoon) and composer Hideki Asanaka (sha-v). It is 400 pages in length, A4 in size and available in hardback only.

Commodore 64: A Visual Commpendium is a visual celebration that features more than 100 titles, represented by beautiful in-game shots or loading screens, plus a gallery of artwork by legendary Zzap!64 artist Oliver Frey. The book also brings a series of features, including profiles of key Britsoft developers, interviews with famous C64 artists, a look back at the demo scene, plus a showcase of unreleased titles and the new games being released more than 20 years after the last machine rolled off Commodore’s production line.

The next book showcases the very best pixel art, box art, and product design. Spread over 536 pages, NES/Famicom: a visual compendium features more than 170 classic games, with articles on the leading developers, interviews with key figures in the industry and mini-features on subjects such as packaging, fan art and unreleased games.

The next one is dedicated to a project of Sir Clive Sinclair, the successor to the ZX80 and ZX81 home computers with a range of games as quirky and eccentric as the computer that inspired them. “Re-live the glory days of the Spectrum with this collection of over 100 classic games. Starting with early titles such as The Hobbit, Hungry Horace and Psion’s Flight Simulation, we trace the lineage of the Spectrum through iconic titles including Manic Miner, Harrier Attack, Elite, Jetpac, Deus Ex Machina, The Lords of Midnight, Knight Lore and Head Over Heels.”

Over the course of some 420 pages, Commodore Amiga: A Visual Commpendium features more than 140 of the biggest titles broughts to life with a double-page screen grab or loading page. The book is filled with quotes and commentary from renowned Amiga artists, developers and publishers, including R J Mical, David Braben, Sid Meier, Ron Gilbert, Julian Eggbrecht, Tobias Richter, Dave Gibbons and many more.
