WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers Struggles with Reviews but Has High Player Count

Players report performance issues, yet the game peaked at over 130,000 active users.

WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers, an action RPG released a day ago, has received a controversial welcome from Steam users: the game boasts an over 131,000 24-hour peak of concurrent players, but with less than one-third of the reviews with a positive rating.

As of writing, the RPG has reached the impressive number of 131,518 players in a day after its launch. However, out of 13,359 player reviews, only 28% are positive:

Most of the reviewers report performance issues, describing the game as "unstable" and saying they can't enjoy the gameplay or boss fights because of these problems. One of the players wrote: "UE5 games are a hit or miss when it comes to performance, and in this case, it's a miss unfortunately."

On the other hand, some of the users point out that performance issues are almost always addressed shortly after a game is released, so players might consider returning to the game once it's done. Other positive reviews note the soulslike's fighting combos, weapons, and solid graphics and physics.

The WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers creators are aware of the users' reports about its performance and have issued a statement, in which they express their regret and say that they are working on the game's optimization and are looking to issue a patch as soon as they can.

WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers, announced in September 2021, was developed by the Chinese studio Leenzee Games and published by 505 Games. Set in the land of Shu during the dark age of the late Ming Dynasty, it follows the story of Wuchang, a skilled pirate warrior battling various monstrous creatures and finding the truth behind a mysterious curse.
