Xbox App Is Coming to Samsung Smart TVs

Over 100 games from Xbox Studios will be available on 2022 Samsung Smart TVs through the new game streaming discovery platform, Samsung Gaming Hub.

Samsung announced it has partnered with Microsoft to bring the Xbox app to smart TVs. Thanks to the partnership, the company's new game streaming discovery platform, Samsung Gaming Hub, will become the first Smart TV platform to include the Xbox app on Smart TVs.

The app will allow users to stream over 100 games from the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate library including titles like Halo Infinite and Forza Horizon 5. In addition, the company said that new games from Xbox Studios will also be added to the app on day one of their releases. According to a corporate VP at Microsoft, Ashley McKissick, the gaming hub will also include a hit game Fortnite that will be available for free.

To play games, players will be able to wirelessly connect controllers to televisions using Bluetooth. According to the company, Samsung Gaming Hub supports all of the most popular game controllers.

"We’re on a quest to bring the joy and community of gaming to everyone on the planet, and bringing the Xbox app to smart TVs is another step in making our vision a reality," the head of Xbox Phil Spencer said. "That’s why we’re excited to partner with Samsung, a global leader in TVs, on bringing Xbox to more players. Working with Samsung has helped us provide more access to gaming and enabled us to welcome new players into our thriving community."

An Xbox application will be available on a gaming hub on 2022 models of Samsung Smart TVs in 27 countries starting June 30.
