Xsolla launched new local payment options across major markets in several regions.
Xsolla, a global video game commerce company that helps developers launch, grow, and monetize their games, has introduced a range of new local payment options across major markets in Europe, Asia, Africa, and Latin America. Timed for the peak holiday season, the expansion aims to reduce checkout friction and help developers convert increased seasonal spending into sustained player engagement.
The rollout includes 10 new regional payment methods aligned with local consumer preferences and trusted financial systems. In Europe, MB Way (Portugal) adds a mobile-first, nationwide checkout solution with instant confirmations. In Asia, JKOPay (Taiwan) brings a secure mobile wallet experience with QR-based payments and loyalty features. At the same time, Paidy (Japan) enables card-free Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) purchases through single-bill or installment options.
Across Africa, Xsolla now supports Airtel Mobile Money (Tanzania and Madagascar) and MTN Mobile Money (Cameroon, Congo-Brazzaville, and Zambia), both of which offer app- or USSD-based approvals and real-time confirmations. Additional options include Paga (Nigeria) for wallet-based payments, Bank Transfers (Nigeria) for Pay-by-Bank flows, MVola (Madagascar) for national wallet coverage, and Spenn (Rwanda, Zambia) for instant wallet transactions.
In Latin America, Mercado Pago (Uruguay) has been added as a leading regional wallet, offering multiple funding sources and instant confirmations.
"Holiday launches are won or lost at checkout," said Chris Hewish, President at Xsolla. "By adding preferred local payment methods players already trust from digital wallets across Africa and Latin America to BNPL options in Japan and mobile wallets in Taiwan and Portugal, we're helping studios turn festive demand into loyal long-term relationships."
Across these regions, mobile wallets, Pay-by-Bank options, and flexible credit methods continue to outperform traditional cards, particularly among younger, mobile-first audiences. By integrating local payment rails that provide familiar authentication and instant confirmation, developers can significantly increase conversion rates and reduce drop-offs during high-traffic periods.
