Post-apocalyptic Ashfall from NetEase will be inviting its first players in early August.
Ashfall, a new Fallout-inspired MMO set in a world after a nuclear war, is getting a closed beta test next week. Just like in Fallout, players will have to leave their shelters to go exploring the wasteland. You will be searching for the Core of Creation, "the key to saving what remains of the world." What makes the game different from Fallout, according to Netease, is that the game is set in an "Eastern-inspired wasteland."
"In the future, AI rises up and launches a nuclear war against humanity. After that, nothing other than ruins are left in the world. You must leave the Vault to find the Core of Creation – the key to saving the world," reads the description. To attract even more attention, the game has even hired the legendary composer Hans Zimmer. The artist is working with Fallout’s music producer for NetEase on this new game.
Ashfall will host its closed beta test on August 3. To participate, you need to fill out this survey – the team needs info on your platform of choice, what you look for in MMOs and shooters, what kind of gamer you are, and more. Little is known about how many people can join the beta test, unfortunately.
The first one will be running for two weeks, until August 17, but we're sure players will get another chance to test it before the full release. Learn more about the game here.
