Microsoft has stopped supporting 32-bit software.
Electronic Arts
Everything changes, and Origin's life is coming to its end as well. But don't worry: the EA app will continue its work, although you might have to update your system.
On April 17, 2025, Origin will shut down, as Microsoft has stopped supporting 32-bit software, EA informs. If you want to play the company's games, you'll need to move to the EA app, which requires a 64-bit version of Windows. If you don't know how to update your Windows 10 or Windows 11, EA has all the instructions on its website.
Your account and games will transfer to the EA app together with the information about the hours you spent in them. You won’t need to redownload your games if you switch to a 64-bit system.
Origin was released in 2011 to basically compete with Steam, and in 2020, it was rebranded to the EA desktop app "to create a more frictionless, fast, socially-oriented experience for our players, where it becomes the best place for them to connect with the people they want to play with, in the games they want to play."
