Yummy Maya-Made 3D Soup That Looks Like Painting

An awesome shader by Fernando Aguilera Reyes.

We all love delicious food here at 80 Level, especially if it's digital. Fernando Aguilera Reyes presented a shader experiment that will make you want to eat this bowl of soup (is it ramen? I'm no expert, sorry. All I know is that I'd love to have it for lunch.)

The shader was made in Maya, inspired by Alai Ganuza's paintings, whose portfolio is full of gorgeous food. Subtle changes in color add dynamism to Reyes's work, and while it's still 3D, the dish looks impressively flat, in a good way.

Painterly 3D projects always catch our attention. Have you seen Elena Shutkina's ramen? And Rabia Türkoğlu's Studio Ghibli-style food? If you want to see a master of 2D-like compositions, Gaku Tada's Blender art.

Earlier, Reyes presented a stunning watercolor effect on Link from The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. This and more can be found on his socials.
