When the first concept art and trailers for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom started appearing online before the game's release, fans of the series were very excited and started speculating about the story and gameplay. One thing that caught everyone's attention was Ganondorf's new appearance, which made all of us fall for him. In a recent interview with Nintendo Dream magazine, Hidemaro Fujibayashi, the Director of the franchise, confirmed that the decision to make Ganondorf look handsome was intentional.
"The designer didn't simply make him look violent; they managed to fulfill my wish of making him look overwhelmingly evil while also being handsome enough that both men and women would fall for him. We put a lot of thought into choosing his clothes and accessories, keeping in mind that Ganondorf himself should have a strong sense of beauty and good taste," shared Fujibayashi.
Fujibayashi explained that Ganondorf's attractive appearance aligns with his regal persona. They wanted to portray him as a powerful and intelligent king, so the team paid particular attention to his image during the creation process.
"We thought he would probably be a character who paid a lot of attention to his appearance, demonstrating his dignity and intelligence as a king, and designing him with that in mind, we were meticulous with his face, body, all the way down to his fingertips, making him come off as robust and sexy at the same time," added Fujibayashi.
Well, it seems that the developers got what they wanted. When fans of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom saw Ganondorf's new look, it became a hot topic of discussion. The character even started appearing in memes once again.
Speaking of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom, Nintendo recently announced the production of a live-action Legend of Zelda movie.
