12-Year-Old The Binding of Isaac Will Get Online Co-op

Repentance owners will soon be able to invite their friends to beat bosses.

The Binding of Isaac, one of the best roguelike games (and one of the best games in general), which was originally released back in 2011, will soon be getting an online co-op mode. The news was announced on Twitter by Tyrone Rodriguez, the team's Executive Producer. The developer hinted at the online co-op mode back in May but officially confirmed it just now.

The co-op mode will support up to four players. The team didn't share the release date yet, but the release should happen soon.

Please note that the cooperative mode will be available only for owners of the game's expansion Repentance. Rodriguez also shared that each team member will receive one item after visiting a treasure room and defeating a boss.

The team will be hosting a beta test for the co-op mode on Steam.

Previously, The Binding of Isaac and Super Meat Boy creator Edmund McMillen said the upcoming cat-breeding RPG Mewgenics is "the most exciting game" he's ever developed. Learn more here
