2-Player Elden Ring Nightreign Is Available Thanks to This Mod

Yui presents new Seamless Co-op.

FromSoftware

Bored of playing Elden Ring Nightreign solo but don't have enough friends for the supported 3-player setup? No worries, modder Yui has you covered already.

Yui released a Seamless Co-op mod for Nightreign on the day of the game's launch so players can enjoy it as a duo. Seamless Co-op is a mod first created for FromSoftware's Dark Souls games, and now, it's ready to introduce the world of Nightreign to you and one of your friends at a time.

You don't have to worry about being banned: the mod doesn't connect you to official matchmaking servers and has separate save files. "There's no way to get banned using this mod unless you modify it with the intent of connecting to vanilla players."

Both players must be signed into Steam and have the same version of the mod.

Fans had been anticipating Elden Ring Nightreign for a while, but the release was plagued by mediocre feelings, with the game becoming FromSoftware's lowest-rated title on Steam. One of the complaints was exactly the lack of 2-player co-op, as well as the absence of voice and text chat, 60 FPS at max, and unsatisfying gameplay.

For once, players and journalists agreed, with the latter not impressed by the roguelike sister of the famous Elden Ring, criticizing its overreliance on reused assets, an unsatisfying combat system, and poor balancing in single-player mode.

Thankfully, one of these problems has now been resolved, albeit by fans, not the developer.
