Jorge Bompart shared a breakdown to prove it's not AI-generated.
Jorge Bompart, whose cool Spine-made animation of Jinx from Arcane we featured last year, has now presented a sketchy-style Rumi from the Netflix animated hit KPop Demon Hunters, complete with a lip sync rig. Unfortunately, a number of people thought this Rumi's performance of Golden might be AI-generated, confusing the sketchbook-style touches for typical Gen AI flaws.
The artist responded with a breakdown showing it was unmistakably made by a real artist:
Although some of these claims may be motivated by ragebait or malice, they still highlight how, today, many people increasingly struggle to tell apart AI-generated art from hand-crafted pieces, especially if they aren't artists or don't regularly engage with art.
