With the line between real and AI-generated content becoming increasingly blurred, it's no surprise that people are cautious about every visual they see online. Such vigilance is particularly common with low-poly art or pieces inspired by classic video games, since these are often thought to be made with AI.
So it's no wonder that someone questioned Gustavo Barros, known online as Guselect, suggesting that his take on the beloved indie game, which reportedly sold over 4.2 million copies within just two weeks of its launch, was AI-generated as well. In response, the developer shared a behind-the-scenes clip made in Godot and even published a detailed devlog about the project:
Understandably, it's quite disheartening when people assume your art was made by AI, and even more so when you have to prove it isn't by preparing behind-the-scenes material:
