3D Artist Presented a Thorough Course on Mechanical Rigging in Blender on Gumroad

Nikodem "DemNikoArt" Bredlich shared his first Gumroad product.

3D Artist Nikodem "DemNikoArt" Bredlich, known for his great mechanical rigs, presented his seven-part course about diverse concepts of mechanical rigging in Blender, which is now available on Gumroad.

The learning materials, which before could be found only on Patreon, will help you create high-quality mechanical robots with intricate mechanical details. The introductory course is beginner-friendly and gradually introduces you to the main steps of crafting rigged robots in Blender. The course features parts dedicated to:

  • Introduction to IK rigging, where the artist tells you about his most-used rigging tool.

  • Robot Legs, explaining how to create a semi-complex rig using some advanced but approachable principles.

  • Pistons, describing an easy way to set them up.

  • Gears, in which the artist explains the core principle of how simple gears work together. This part also includes an intro into drivers.

  • Robot Arms, covering the creation of a more advanced setup and how multiple IK rigs can work together.

  • Cables, featuring the most fun and versatile mechanic, and no simulations or baking needed.

  • Robot Clamps, describing setting up an advanced mechanism that looks complex but is easy to use with a single controller.

DemNikoArt has showcased many highly detailed mechanical rigged setups, such as this car suspension rig, a beetle-like wing structure, a robot arm rig, and a reworked version of Storm Eagle's wing:
