3D Artist Visualized Fluid Interactions Under Microgravity Inside A Space Station

"Experiment underway to reproduce space physics phenomena digitally."

Katsuaki Sato, also known as katsuaki1986, who specializes in space digital twins, has continued his experiments after the recently unveiled replica of the International Space Station, which is now available for exploration in the ISS Simulator game.

This time, the artist presented a simulation of water droplets colliding inside the space station designed to analyze and visualize fluid behavior in microgravity. In the second video, the developer reduced the surface tension of the water in space, keeping the collision speed and total volume of water the same, achieving a different result.

"It's fun to see how something that is common on Earth is not so common in space", commented Katsuaki Sato.

Following this, he shared a simulation of water splashing onto a robot, aiming to visualize the interaction between a rigid body and a fluid in microgravity. Increasing the amount of water completely wraps the little guy in liquid:

What if we added color to the water? Would the colors blend smoothly?
