3D Modeling & CAD Software Plasticity 2026.2 Has Been Released

The release adds a Curvature Analysis shader, new Edge Align options, and CV editing for PolySplines.

Plastic Software has presented a new version of its software for 3D modeling and CAD – Plasticity 2026.2. The new version adds an Assets system and two Studio-only features: a Constraint System and a new Project Align command.

The new Assets tab in the Outliner lets users mark, export, and share reusable parts, such as bolts and other mechanical components, and drag them straight into the viewport. The Constraint System creates constraints based on the command used, which stay enforced as geometry is transformed. It's available only in Studio, and constraints aren't saved with the file yet. Project Align aligns the CVs along a target surface's edge to a reference surface.

The update also adds a Curvature Analysis shader with Gaussian, Mean, and Max modes. In Edge Align, a new Collinear solver option for Class A style modeling offers two behaviors, Symmetric and Asymmetric, that control how alignment happens between two surfaces. A new Skew boundary option lets you control how much boundary edges tilt during alignment.

Other changes include PolySpline CV editing in Point Selection Mode, mesh snap visualization, customizable edge colors, tintable matcaps, and a number of interface refinements across the Outliner, panels, and gizmos.

Recently, we've covered the new release of Maxon's software – Cinema 4D, ZBrush, and more.
