3D Scan Store Creators Present Largest Database of High-Resolution Human Head Scans
Enjoy 82,390 RAW scans from over 7,000 people.
Studio Ten24, the makers of 3D Scan Store, a provider of high-quality 3D models, unveiled SP-6M, "the largest database of high-resolution individual human head scans ever created."
The numbers on its website are truly impressive. With 5,849,690 RAW CR2 images, 82,390 RAW 3D scans of 7,420 unique individuals, and 501 fully retopologised faces including eyes, teeth, and hair systems, you can potentially create 177,978,515,625,000,000,000,000 "unique, identity-safe synthetic human heads generated from our unified topology and modular facial components."
Ten24
"By maintaining identical topology, UV layouts, and vertex correspondence across all heads, the dataset enables seamless morphing, rig reuse, and expression transfer for VFX and real-time character pipelines, while simultaneously providing clean, noise-free geometry for AI and machine-learning workflows."
Ten24
The consistency allows models to learn true facial variation, according to the creators, and not just mesh artefacts. It supports large-scale synthetic identity generation and makes it easy to combine data from multiple datasets.
"Each individual is captured across a fixed set of 11 core facial expressions, designed to span neutral states, functional movements, and primary emotional extremes."
The expressions vary from neutral to happy, sad, angry, surprised, scared, and disgusted, with eye and mouth articulation and brow movement.
All expressions are exported with 16384 px x 16384 px textures and low and high polygon models at 200,000 and 7 million polygons, respectively.
Ten24
This ethically sourced database of photorealistic faces is the peak of photogrammetry, allowing artists to "build" countless 3D humans.
