Paint System lets you experience the magic.
3D Artist and Blender tutorial creator Tawan Sunflower has prepared a big, surprising New Year gift for the whole community, which is a new and free Blender add-on, Paint System. It aims to turn Blender into Photoshop.
"With Paint System, painting 3D objects becomes simpler and more intuitive than ever before!" This is the magic of the tool. The Paint System add-on utilizes Blender's node system, and it integrates a lot of features that are aimed at simplifying the painting process in Blender, including layer clipping, blend modes, and animatable opacity.
This powerful add-on also supports custom brushes, so users can easily add and switch between different brushes. Painting on 3D objects is streamlined to an experience similar to working with layers in Photoshop. Additionally, you can paint the normals. The creator said, "You can add a normal setup and go wild."
Tawan Sunflower developed the Paint System independently, hoping to bring the amazing features of Photoshop into Blender. When talking about the reason for making it, the artist explained that this is inspired by the amazing painterly-style of Arcane. The goal of the add-on is to make 3D art creation more intuitive and user-friendly.
This add-on is available for Blender 4.1 and is free to download on Gumroad, and the tutorial video above shows how to download, install, and use it.
