3D Artist oimoyu has released Easy Envelope, a new add-on for Blender that expands the capabilities of the software's Envelope Weights and allows you to easily weight meshes with complex structures, such as cloaks, multi-layered skirts, hair composed of meshes, and such.
Compatible with Blender 3.3 to 4.0, Easy Envelope allows you to customize the envelope range and view the envelope range conveniently in real-time. All you need to do is select the mesh object first, then select the armature object, enter pose mode, and press a button to calculate the weight, which will then be applied to the vertices.
Features & Additional Tools:
- You can view every envelope shape and its affected vertices.
- You can edit your own envelope shape. You can also save the envelope as a file and load it.
- You can check the calculation result in real-time without switching to weight painting mode. Red means weight is 1 blue means 0. White means vertices that are not processed.
- You can adjust the gradient curve to get your result.
- Different algorithms for different kinds of mesh.
- Select Vertices with Deform Weights: You can quickly see which vertices are affected by deform bones.
- Remove the deform weights of selected Vertices: Delete the deform weights from selected vertices in batches.
- Select the Deform Bone of Selected vertices: After clicking, it will switch to the pose mode of the armature and select the deform bone of selected vertices.
- Save as Envelope File: You can save the current mesh as an envelope shape, with the file name being the object name.
