A PS1-Style Car Game In UE4 With Realistic Crashing System

Classic style mixed with modern tricks in Unreal Engine.

Check out a low poly retro-style game being developed by Marcis. The game reminds you of good old PlayStation 1 days but at the same time shows some neat new tricks like an advanced damage system. 

Marcis is constantly sharing dev updates revealing details on how he approaches different production tasks. First, the developer noted that the paint peeling is actually baked into textures so it's not a dynamic effect. With the latest update, Marcis also started using procedural meshes in Unreal Engine that can be modified in real-time. This decision allowed the developer to fix collision issues.
