A Realistic Umbrella Rig Made With Blender & Marvelous Designer

This impressive rig was made by Nicolas Roth.

3D Character Artist and Freelance Animator Nicolas Roth, whose amazing character dancing animation was featured just yesterday here on 80 Level, impresses us for a second day in a row with yet another amazing project.

This time, we were awed by Nicolas' highly-realistic umbrella rig, which allows the artist to open and close the digital umbrella, change its rotation point, point it in any direction the creator wants, and more. According to the author, the prop was rigged in Blender, and its fabric was simulated with Marvelous Designer. In the future, Nicolas also considers making the rig available for download after some refinements and improvements.
