Mojang has recently announced that its legendary sandbox game Minecraft has sold over 300 million copies, solidifying its position as the world's best-selling game.
"As we approach the 15th anniversary, Minecraft remains one of the best-selling games of all time, with over 300 million copies sold, a milestone no one could have dreamed of when we were all placing our first blocks," stated Helen Chiang, Head of Mojang Studios.
To celebrate this huge milestone, the team behind the title announced several updates. Among other things, the Minecraft team shared they will release a Star Wars DLC where players can become Jedi.
The developers also shared details about update 1.21 and announced the winner of the latest Mob Vote. The Star Wars update will be launched on November 7th. Titled 'Path of the Jedi', the story will take place during the Clone Wars era. Players will begin their journey as a Padawan, learning from Yoda, Mace Windu, and Obi-Wan, eventually becoming Jedi themselves.

The development team promises that users will get a chance to craft their own lightsaber and acquire a companion droid. Next year, the game will also get update 1.21 which will include challenge-based dungeons, a new mob utilizing the power of wind, and a new block meant for automatic item creation.
