At one point, Guitar Hero was one of the most popular games out there, and I doubt there's anyone who hasn't heard of it. The idea of playing guitar and then drums without knowing how is awesome and deserves a revival.

You might be happy to know that this might actually happen as a new report from Windows Central states Activision's CEO Bobby Kotick mentioned the game at a recent all-hands meeting with Activision-Blizzard-King employees.

Activision's deal with Microsoft should soon reach a conclusion, and a positive outcome will mean the Windows creator will take the studio under its wing and decide the fates of its games, with the exception of cloud streaming rights, which will go to Ubisoft.

Kotick seems to be looking forward to this; he believes the company needs Microsoft's resources to move forward. It concerns Guitar Hero as well: the CEO mentioned the game while talking about other noteworthy titles from Activision, like Pitfall, Kaboom!, and River Raids.

"The re-emergence of Guitar Hero and other things would not be possible without the different types of resources. And so, you know, just the endless possibilities for the future that are just incredibly exciting."

Kotick also discussed various techs that would shape the future, including Elon Musk's Neuralink and AI. He was particularly interested in how we will be able to interact with things on the screen without a controller with Neuralink, an earpiece, headset, or "some other type of sensor."

Who knows, maybe this could somehow be incorporated in Activision's work with the resources from Microsoft.

"A big part of what I've seen in Microsoft is research. And they do development in areas that are extraordinary. And so being able to tap into their AI and machine learning capability, the data analytics, new ways of thinking about graphics – I just see unlimited potential for what we do," Kotick said. "We're uniquely situated as a company because we have the very best franchises in all of video games."

In conclusion, he mentioned that machine learning graphics technologies like DLSS would become less expensive and more accessible with time, and this is "going to just create more and more opportunities for the amazingly talented people that we have here."
