Fans are confused.
Activision
It seems like Activision has not been informed about Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 becoming the worst-rated game in the series, as in its new X/Twitter post, it congratulates Treyarch and Raven Software on the launch and thanks fans for their "great response". Fans don't know when they managed to respond well, and the promise of "this is just the start" sounds more like a threat.
"Across opening weekend, we’ve seen a great response to the quality and depth of gameplay in Black Ops 7.
"This is only the start. Our teams have an incredible year of content and events lined up, beginning with Season 01 around the corner. We couldn’t be more excited for what’s to come in Black Ops 7."
The game has Mixed reviews on Steam and only a 1.7 user score on Metacritic at the moment, with players bashing its poor optimization, questionable monetization, multiplayer, and controls. Activision's message sounds a little odd with these numbers. "If that's a 'great response,' I'd hate to see what [Call of Duty] thinks a terrible response would look like," commented one player.
