In a recent post on Twitter, the official Call of Duty account shared some exciting news, stating that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has broken new engagement records. According to Activision, the third installment in the trilogy had an exceptional launch and achieved a "historic" milestone. Within just two weeks of its release, the game broke a trilogy record for player engagement. In fact, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 surpassed the previous two titles in the franchise in terms of average hours played per player during the same initial two-week period. However, no figures have been provided yet.

"Thank you for a historic launch. Just two weeks in, Modern Warfare 3 has already set records with the highest engagement in the new Modern Warfare trilogy!" shared the team.

Earlier this month, we wrote about the severe criticism that the game received because of the rushed development process. According to insiders, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, was created approximately in 16 months, compared to most Call of Duty games that typically had a three-year development cycle. Critics pointed out a rushed storyline as the biggest drawback of the game.

Also, Activision announced that Season 1 of Modern Warfare 3 would be launching on December 6, introducing two new multiplayer maps, namely Meat and Greece, as well as Warzone's fresh Urzikstan map, along with various other features. To prepare for the upcoming season, Sledgehammer Games rolled out a new update for Modern Warfare 3 on November 21. Players can check out the detailed patch notes for more information. Additionally, from November 22 to November 27, there will be a special double XP event for players, offering increased rewards for player progression, weapon upgrades, and Battle Pass XP.
