Masoud Rezaei's Geometry Nodes modifier lets you generate tears and frayed edges on any mesh. He originally created it while working on a pair of ripped denim shorts, needing a solution that supported animation, since Tear Painter hadn't been updated at the time.
Cloth Ripper is intuitive and easy to learn. It lets you add realistic or stylized tears to any mesh, with full control over tear intensity, direction, edge fraying, and randomness. It also supports animated objects, alembic caches, and rigs, works with complex shapes, and delivers high performance.
